Interesting Denver Drinks

best Denver drinks)
Lavender or Jasmine Bubble Tea
The Lollicup store at 1589 S. Colorado Boulevard in
Denver has many interesting drinks. My favorites are the jasmine milk tea and
lavender milk tea - they taste exactly the way the flowers smell. The drinks are
often made with fresh fruits, milk or yogurt, and ice. There are a variety of
other drinks options too, including slushes, smoothies and hot drinks.

Brazilian Lemonade
Offered by Rodizio Grill, they offer a
small, individual pitcher of this wonderful lemon and lime drink. It is sweet
yet tart, refreshing and unlike any other type of lemonade I have tried.
This is also one of my favorite fancy event restaurants overall as their
food is excellent too. Waiters walk around the restaurant carrying platters and
skewers of meat to offer to guests - the meats include beef, turkey wrapped in
bacon, chicken, pork, Brazilian sausage, ham and more. The salad bar, appetizers
and desserts are also excellent. My favorite dessert is the Brazilian flan.

Jallab
This odd drink is served at the Lebanese restaurant called
Sinbad's. It is described as "an exotic drink of raisins with pine nuts".
I'm not a huge fan of raisins, but it certainly is an interesting drink!

Vietnamese Coffee
Vietnamese coffee is a distinctive drink of coffee or
espresso, usually mixed with condensed milk or another thick, syrupy type of
cream and then poured over ice. It is usually served cold, but occasionally
places offer the choice of hot or cold. My favorite Vietnamese coffee in Denver
is served by Penthouse Noodles & Grill in the "Eat Up" food court on the
16th Street Mall.

Thai Iced Tea
Thai iced tea is a tea blend of interesting spices, then
typically mixed with condensed milk and water then poured over ice. Many places
make the drink a spectacle as well, with layers of heavier tea and then
cream/milk that can be mixed together. Once mixed, the overall drink is usually
a light orange. My favorite thai iced tea (and coincidentally the most
reasonably priced!) is from Tommy's Thai near Colorado Boulevard on
Colfax.

Pisco Sour
This is the only alcoholic drink on my
list. Pisco is described as the national drink of Chile, a brandy made
from a kind of muscatel grape. It is hard-to-impossible to find at liquor
stores, but luckily Denver has a South American restaurant aptly named "Piscos"
that does serve this delicious drink.

Honorable Mention for Past Beverage: Rooh-Afza
This drink to my knowledge was only found in Denver at
India's Rang Mahal restaurant, which sadly has been subsumed by another
Indian restaurant that does not serve it. It was an exotic drink flavored with cold milk
and rose. Every time I visit an Indian restaurant I look for this drink,
but so far I had only
found it at India's Rang Mahal.
